GUIDELINES

  • Eligibility: All faculty at an assistant professor level in the United States/Canada regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, religion, and sexual orientation, are encouraged to apply.
  • Priority will be given to those individuals that are underrepresented in medicine including intersectional individuals.
  • Applications will be scored by the JUMPSTART Coordinating Committee.
  • Withdrawal from the program may prevent future application.
  • AAS and SUS membership is not required to apply. Selected non-member participants will be extended a complimentary 1st year of membership for the AAS.

Participants will attend sessions to gain tailored advice from coaches, senior surgical mentors, and AAS and SUS leaders.  Sessions will be tailored to individual goals, strengths and opportunities.

For the 2024-2026 calendar year, participation will be limited to 7 outstanding candidates. Please see the application description for requirements.  All supporting documents must be received by July 23, 2024 11:59 PM EST.
